APRIL 2008

Thank You
for supporting the
Youth Group's Cardboard City!!

Saturday April 5 the Ashland Youth group raised poverty awareness by participating in Cardboard City, and slept in cardboard shelters for the night to simulate homelessness. Saturday night, Eric Ruhl and the Contemporary Worship Team led a service with the youth and supporters on the church parking lot.  Thanks to the generosity of church members and the Ashland Community we were able to deliver a van packed with bedding, clothing and food to Bea Gaddy's Family Center in East Baltimore, where the supplies were sorely needed.  Here's a photo of the group gathered for worship.   More photos are posted here.

 Deep Shift Transformation --
Phase Two Kick-Off

On April 2 the congregation gathered to meet with Denise Van Eck, our facilitator for the Deep Shift Transformation.   This marked the beginning of Phase Two in the Deep Shift process.   The group went through an exercise to discuss different aspects of our life together as a church community.   Stay tuned for reports on this process in the Deep Shift section of our website.
